Shortcut Menu – Access to Links
Abbreviated Tutorial to Main Important Features of System
The
Search window serves for searching for text in the book databases on the
CD.
To
open the Search window press F3, click on the "Search" icon,
or select "Free Search" from the Search Menu.
Type
the word(s) you want to find and press ENTER or click on the "Search"
button.
For
help using the Search System and various Search Options, click on Help
at the lower left hand side of the Search window, or see here.
For
help navigating within the search results after results are displayed, and
complete information on viewing and browsing options, select Current Window from
Help menu or press Ctrl+F1, or see here.
For quick access to a
specific book (without going through the database), press the Alphabetic
tab and type the book name directly into the search box.
The Browse window
enables browsing through books and opening texts when the "address"
(exact source) is known; also for locating a specific article.
The Browse window is
accessed by pressing the Browse button on the tool bar, selecting Browse
List from Text menu or pressing F4.
For quick access to a
specific book (without going through the database), press the Book list tab
and type the book name directly into the search box.

"Gematria" window or press Gematria button on toolbar. Type the word
or words you are looking for, and then press ENTER or click on the
"Search" button.

Print (Ctrl+P)
– opens the Print dialog box which
displays the various printing options.
Copy
as simple text – copies the currently open text to the
clipboard as simple text (ignoring font, color and word processor
specifications).
Copy –
copies the currently
open text to the clipboard to be pasted into a word processor. The program
preserves text attributes specified by the user in the Options windows (View
menu), under color, fonts and CDrom tabs.
By Saving the Configuration on the View Menu, these
specifications (colors, fonts, printers and more) w
Multiple print - prints up to 4 different texts in
separate columns on one page.
Exit -
exits the
program.
Free
Search (F3) - opens Search window
where you may type in words to be searched, and select various other search
options. See here.
Gematria
(F7) - opens
"Gematria" window, for searching matching gematria values, first/last
letters, skip letters and more. see here
Results
list - shows a window
which displays the number of the search results in each database. Select a
database to view and press enter, or double click on the database or select and
press OK, to view results in the selected database. see

Next
database - when searching
several databases, this displays the search results from the next database in
the list. Alternatively, Click Book+.
Previous
database - when searching several databases, this displays the search
results from the previous database in the list. Alternatively, Click Book-
Browse
List (F4) - opens a
list containing the titles of the books in the CD-Rom (database tree). Navigate
through the sections and chapters of the book down to the text level by
clicking on name of book or selecting book and pressing Enter. see here

(F9) - opens the following page,
section, chapter or verse.

paragraph
(F8) - opens the previous page, section, chapter or verse.
Next
result (Ctrl+F9) - jumps to
the next search find.
Previous
result (Ctrl+F8) – jumps to the previous search
find.
Find
in Text (Ctrl+F) - enables
you to search for any word in the open text.
Find
Next (Ctrl+G) - finds
the next time a word appears in the open text.
Toolbar -
displays/hides
the toolbar.
Status
line - displays/hides
the status line at the bottom of the main window, which displays important
context-sensitive information
The
Hebrew date and updated version appear on the Status line in yellow.
Double
click on version number to view additional information about this version, as
well as the number of users authorized to use it.
Double
click the Hebrew Date to access the Halachic times of day for various cities
worldwide.
Options -
Opens a
window with multiple tabs for selecting fonts and colors for display etc. The General
tab allows choosing interface language, displaying and printing nikud, saving
and printing options, autosave etc. The Cdrom allows word processor
selection etc.
Save Configuration – saves current configuration of parameters
selected in Options window. By default the system saves the configuration
automatically; this option is meant for users who disabled autosave
configuration through the Options window.
History (Ctrl+H) – opens a window with a list of all the texts
that were opened in the program since its activation (according to database
date and address) and allows quick repeated access to them. History is saved
automatically only if this option was checked in Options window.
Copies pieces (Ctrl+V) – Opens a multiple text clipboard which retains
every section that was copied (using Ctrl+C) in the current work session. The
options include: Print each section separately, Print all
sections printed together, Copy section to regular clipboard for pasting
in wordprocessor, View section in word processor, delete line of
section from multiple text clipboard, and Close window.

Add Note – opens a window in which the
current text can be saved as a bookmark and personal notes can be added
(Ctrl+N). See deta
Notes List – opens a list of all notes written
by user, and enables searching through them, editing them and opening the
desired text.

leaving title and abstract windows open.

Results – opens the Results List, which displays the databases that include results for the current search with the number of search results in each database, for selecting and displaying the results from one of the databases. Save as – opens the Save as
window, for saving text as plain non-formatted text.

previous or next database including matches, when the search is performed on

Prev., Next – in text results window, moves to

Close all – closes all open windows in the
program, but leaves the program running.

F5 – Displays
extensive text – In a window containing a single source/verse, displays the
entire chapter.
F7 – opens Gematria window.
F8 – scrolls to previous paragraph of text.
F9 – scrolls to next paragraph of text.
Ctrl+F1 – opens help screen for current window.
Ctrl+F8 – scrolls to previous search result.
Ctrl+F9 – scrolls to next search result.
Ctrl+B – copies current section to clipboard,
for pasting into word processor as plain unformatted text.
Ctrl+C – copies current section to clipboard,
for pasting into word processor.
Ctrl+E – saves current window in History.
Ctrl+F – searches in open text.
Ctrl+G – when searching for a word in a text screen, finds next appearance.
Ctrl+H – opens History window with a list of
all the texts that were opened in the program since its activation (according
to database date and address) and allows quick repeated access to them.
Ctrl+N – opens Save Favorites and Personal Notes
window
Ctrl+P – opens Print window. The options
in this window include selecting a printer, removing titles, choosing between
printing with diacritics (nikud) or without them, and access to Print
Setup for setting printer and paper options, and printing to PDF f

Ctrl+V – opens multiple text clipboard (see Copies pieces).
Shift+F2 – t
The open text may be linked to additional information in the
program databases, and access to this information is possible through the
shortcut menu. Select a word or several words from the open text and click
right mouse button to view contextual menu options:
Copy – copies current section to clipboard, for pasting into
word processor.
The same can be performed using the Ctrl+C keyboard shortcut
– copies current section to clipboard, for pasting into word processor.

Open Reference – whenever
you wish to open a source by specifying its reference, e.g. áøàùéú
à, à, use this function to open the text at
the requested place.
When there is a reference to a verse number enclosed in
brackets, the referenced source may be opened by double clicking on the link,
or selecting the link and opening it through the contextual right-click
menu.
Status bar at the bottom of the screen displays
the Hebrew date and version no (in yellow). Double click on version no. to view
information regarding the current version, and no. of user permits for this
software installation. Double click the Hebrew date to view a list of halachic
times for today and tomorrow, for selected locations worldwide.
