Search Results

Results list window

This window displays the number of search results found in all of the databases.

Select the required database and press OK to display results.

The search results of a single database are presented on this screen. The screen is divided into two: sources and abstracts. The dividing line between

both parts of the screen can be moved to the left or to the right. The sources and several lines of surrounding text will appear for each search result.

To add a line of text to every search result, click on the Extensive context button above the texts. To subtract a line of text from every search result, click on the Reduced context button. The abstract display may be enlarged up to 8 lines of text per abstract.

Only 1000 results are displayed at one time. Double clicking on a source in the source window scrolls the texts displayed in the abstracts window to the required source. Pressing the 1000+ button advances the display to the next 1000 sources; pressing the -1000 button scrolls back to the previous 1000 finds.

One can scroll through each section with the Up, Down, PgDn, and PgUp arrows, or by moving the scroll box at the right side of the window with the mouse.

Merge

In the abstracts window, each result is displayed with a line of text. Clicking the Merge button will merge all entries from the same paragraph, and display one line only from each paragraph/source. For example, if a search word appears several times in the same chapter/article, only one line will be displayed for that chapter, and upon clicking on that line, the entire chapter will be displayed with all appearances of the search word highlighted in a different color.

Double-clicking on a line of text in the abstract window will open a full text window that contains the entire chapter or section. The source in the abstract window will be marked with the word "Displayed", indicating that this source has been displayed for full screen viewing.

Clicking once on the numbered source line above a text in the abstracts window selects the entire present text for printing or for copying to a word processor. The word "Marked" appears above the text to indicate this.

Each search result in the Source window is numbered. You can jump to a specific search result by typing its number and clicking on the Go to line button. Scrolling down the results list to the desired number, e.g. 90, and double-clicking on that result on the right window scrolls the abstracts window so that source 90 will display at the top of the window.

The font size can be changed on the right edge of the tool bar. (Fonts can be changed through View ® Options).

Complete text window

This window shows the entire chapter or section in which the search word occurs, with all the search results appearing in a different color from the surrounding text. You can jump to the next search result by pressing on the space bar.

The entire section can be printed by clicking on the printer icon or by pressing CTRL-P, saved as a RTF or text file, or copied to the clipboard in a DavkaWriter, Dagesh Pro, Word or Wordpad file format, by selecting the desired option from the File menu.

Pressing with the right button of the mouse on a word or any selected text opens a menu with three options:

Copy to Clipboard - copies the word or selected text to the clipboard. The text can afterwards be pasted into a word processor.

Search Searches for the word or selected text.

Open Reference Opens references which appear in the text (if the database for the reference exists in the program) I.e. If the text contains a reference to "Genesis 1", clicking on "Open Reference" will open a window showing these texts. Double-clicking on a colored reference will also open the text.

To save only part of the section, place the mouse at the beginning of the text, and click-drag to the end of the desired text. Then press CTRL + C to copy the text to the clipboard with predetermined attributes or CTRL + B to copy the text as Simple Text. You can then paste the text in a file of a word processor program.

Double-clicking on a search result will open the entire chapter or section in which it is located. Pressing the spacebar will allow you to jump from one search find to another.

Pressing SHIFT + F2 will tile the windows on the screen so one window will not cover up another.

To perform a new search, press F3 again.
